Installations
Before I discovered theatre design, I had a keen focus on creating installation art. During my time at Hastings college, I created 2 installations for my end of year shows; both were heavily focused on sensory art, using elements other than visuals to create atmosphere and narrative.

Some of the mediums and practises I explored during my time in college and my foundation year have fed into my work as a performance maker and theatre designer; smell, sound and texture are 3 elements I consider heavily when approaching a new design.

An installation I made during my foundation year, a satirical piece exploring customer interactions within coffee shops in the Hastings and St Leonards areas. The installation is made up of 3 main focal points: Scented ‘chromatography’ cards, a 3D binaural soundscape and illustrations of people I witnessed doing strange or irritating things in coffee shops.

This installation explores sleep paralysis and the physical sensations I have experienced during an episode.
